Exhibit Preview & Tour

Join Saatchi Art's Katherine Henning and Jessica McQueen for an exclusive unveiling of Jonas Fisch's first-ever limited edition prints, specially commissioned by Saatchi Art and released in conjunction with its current exhibition, From the Street.

Hailed by Saatchi Art curators as "One to Watch," Fisch's vibrantly-colored abstract paintings are inspired by street art and recall artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Jackson Pollock. By combining figure, word, and shape in a single composition, he aims to express his innermost thoughts and feelings.

Fisch and From the Street's  other up-and-coming artists create work that collectively represent an exploration of Los Angeles—from its inhabitants to its architecture. Continuing the rich genre of Street and Pop art, which have been a vibrant part of urban life in L.A. since the 1970s, From the Street presents a range of works from the portraiture and figurative to abstract and cityscapes. Many of the works possess a light and humorous tone, characterized by references to pop culture, and playful subjects such as donut-eating contests and gorillas getting haircuts. Others delve into more serious subjects, exploring the cult of celebrity and the grittier side of the City of Angels.

In what figures to be another sell-out salon, this is a one-time opportunity to see the exhibition before it closes and celebrate the release of Fisch's limited edition printswith a fika inspired by the traditional coffee breaks of Fisch's home country of Sweden. Rusticoffee mobile coffee cart will be on hand to serve up made-to-order espresso drinks to attendees as they tour the exhibition. .

RSVP by February 15th to attend this free event. Guests will:

    • Privately tour From the Street guided by the show's curators
    • Have the opportunity to be the first to collect the debut print of one of today's most exciting emerging artists
    • Enjoy specially-crafted espresso drinks made by Rusticoffee

Anytime we can introduce artists to those who may not know their work, it's good for all. i found myself wishing for more examples of each artist's work - perhaps 3 or 4 pieces - that would give me a deeper understanding of their talent and how they think. it could be current pieces or even an early to current span to show their growth and direction. very much enjoyed the hosts' work that was up as well.

Loved having a coffee and hearing about what's happening right now in la

Great fun hearing the artist talk in detail about his process, his history and how his artistic vision developed.

it was real interesting to hear the artist explain the process first hand. the paintings were also amazing. it was great to discover m. fisch's work and to hear him describe the context in which he painted. thank you for the experience!
