A rare opportunity to meet with Duane Michals in an intimate environment at OSMOS Address where the artist will discuss his process, and his monumental portfolio of photography, writing, and painting in the current exhibition entitled Duane Michals: Open Book. The discussion will be led by OSMOS founder and director, Cay Sophie Rabinowitz.

About the artist
Duane Michals was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania in 1932, and he received a BA from the University of Denver in 1953. After serving in the Army and working as a graphic designer, he began to make photographs in 1958 while traveling in the Soviet Union. It was with these pictures that Michals made his first book--three versions each with a different cover--and thus he forged an eternal love affair between the camera and the page. In 1970 Duane Michals installed a solo show at Museum of Modern Art in New York entitled STORIES with his signature approach to serial pictures that will be included as well in his forthcoming 2014 retrospective at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
