About the artist
Alexis Zambrano awakened an early interest in art through collecting. His interest soon grew into a life long passion for not only collecting art, but also for creating it. In his first solo exhibition, Interior Artscapes, Alexis curates a series of re-imagined scenes conceiving his ideal fantasy of an otherwise impossible collection. Each painting juxtaposes the contemporary artwork of artists such as Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter, Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko, and Barbara Kruger to name a few, with the traditional atmosphere and hanging of a European salon.
Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Alexis received his BFA in Architectural Design at Parsons The New School for Design. Zambrano's experience and passion for the arts have allowed him to co-found InSitu Works, a online marketplace and advisory alongside childhood friend Ana Cecilia Perez. Zambrano's artwork is housed in private collections in Mexico and New York.
