    Join us for a special exhibition "Wagner: A Genius in Exile," featuring his photographs and documentary retracing his great-great-grandfather's flight to Zurich, Switzerland after he became enmeshed in the Dresden revolutions of 1848 and 1849. A conversation will follow between Antoine Wagner and curator Astrid de Maismont.

    The work of Antoine Wagner (b. 1982, USA) has been the subject of solo exhibiKons at The Voelkerkunde Museum Hamburg (2015-2016), La Filature de Mulhouse (2015), the Opera BasKlle in Paris (2013), Henn Gallery in Munich (2011), Liszt Concert Hall in Raiding , Austria (2009) among others. Notable group exhibiKons featuring his work include: , Patrice Chereau: Musee Imaginaire at La FondaKon Lambert en Avignon(2015) and The Open at Jeffery Deitch Projects (2009). Wagner 's work is included in the public collecKons of La FondaKon Lambert en Avignon and the Voelkerkunde Museum Hamburg. He lives and works between New York and Paris.

    About the artist

    Antoine Wagner

    Antoine Wagner is a French/American artist, photographer, and filmmaker, born in 1982 in Evanston, IL, who lives and works in New York and Paris. He holds degrees in theater, political science, and film studies.

    Anotine Wagner is the great-great-grandson of Richard Wagner as well as the great-great-great-grandson of Franz Liszt. As the son of Eva Wagner, the co-director of the annual Wagner Festival in Bayreuth, he was steeped in family history as a child. Antoine Wagner produced and starred in the documentary film with director Andy Sommer, Wagner: A Genius in Exile. In this musical road movie, he is shown retracing his great-greatgrandfather's flight to Zurich after he became enmeshed in the Dresden revolutions of 1848 and 1849.
